Call to Worship

Leader: He is risen!

People: He is risen, indeed!

Welcome

Profession of Joy (Responsive)

We glory in your cross, O Lord,

and glory in your resurrection;

for by virtue of your cross

joy has come to the whole world.

May God be merciful to us and bless us,

and show us the light of his countenance,

and come to us.

Let your ways be known upon earth,

and your saving grace among all nations.

Let the peoples praise you, O God;

let all the peoples praise you.

We glory in your cross, O Lord,

and glory in your resurrection;

for by virtue of your cross

joy has come to the whole world.

He is risen!

He is risen indeed! [Amen.]

Songs of Praise

Christ the Lord Is Risen Today

Alleluia, Alleluia Hearts to Heaven

Canticle to the Lamb (Responsive)

You are worthy, O Lord our God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they were created and have their being.

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain

to receive glory and honor.

You are worthy, O Christ, for you were slain,

and by your blood have ransomed us for God,

from every tribe and people and nation,

a royal house of priests to our God.

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain

to receive glory and honor.

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,

to receive power and wealth, wisdom and might,

honor and glory and blessing.

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain

to receive glory and honor.

To the one seated upon the throne,

and to Christ the Lamb,

be blessing and honor, glory and might,

forever and ever.

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain

to receive glory and honor. Amen!

Profession of Faith (Responsive)

(The Heidelberg Catechism, #45)

Q. How does the resurrection of Christ benefit us?

A. First, by his resurrection he has overcome death,

so that he might make us share in the righteousness

he won for us by his death.

 Second, by his power we too

are already now resurrected to a new life.

Third, Christ’s resurrection

is a guarantee of our glorious resurrection. [Amen.]
